Privacy
How we handle your information.
This is the company site for Voices of History. It exists to explain who we are and what we build, and it asks very little of you. This page says plainly what it collects and why.
What this policy covers
This policy covers voicesofhistory.co, the company site you are reading now. It does not cover our products, such as the Yap Royale game or our classroom tools, which run on their own domains and carry their own privacy policies. When you leave this site for one of those, that product's policy applies.
We keep this deliberately short because the site itself is deliberately simple. There are no user accounts here, no shopping cart, and no login for visitors. If a section below does not seem to apply to anything you did, it probably does not.
What we collect
When you visit, our hosting provider records standard server logs: the pages requested, rough timing, and a truncated network address, kept only to keep the site up and to understand aggregate traffic. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data. If you email the address on our contact page, we receive whatever you choose to write, and we keep that correspondence so we can reply and follow up.
The only cookie this site sets is a session cookie for our own team when we sign in to edit copy. Visitors are not asked to accept tracking cookies because we do not set any.
Who we share it with
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site: a hosting platform that serves these pages and a database that stores the site's editable text. They process data only to provide those services to us, under their own terms. We do not share your information with anyone else except where the law requires it.
We use the information we hold for one purpose: to operate this site and to respond to people who get in touch. We do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Your choices and contact
You can browse this site without giving us anything. If you have written to us and would like us to delete that correspondence, or you have a question about this policy, email us and we will help. We will update the date below when this policy changes.
Questions about privacy go to the same address as everything else: founders@voicesofhistory.co. We read every message a person actually sends.
Help us close the distance.
Whether you run a museum, teach a class, make things for an audience, or just love this stuff, we'd like to hear from you.
